Just started and have a few questions [Oct. 20th, 2010|06:03 pm]

Hello! So I just started this diet. Maybe for about a week and a half now. Haven't really lost much, which is disappointing since I sort of got the impression that this diet caused you to lose pretty quickly. Oh well, not really doing it for the diet--that's just a happy side effect. Doing it because I think it's an easy, cheap way to be healthier.

OK, so I have a few questions:

1. Does it get any easier? Anyway, so I'm pretty miserable being hungry. I've always been a person who gets busy and just skips meals--sometimes several meals in a row. But forcing myself not to eat... that's hard. I've never dieted in my life... Also, I've realized that whenever I'm hungry, I tend to plan my next meal in my head. This is not helpful. Not only does my next meal not come soon enough, but I don't have enough time to make all the lovely foods I've dreamt up.

2. How soon did anyone notice any good effects? I've heard of people losing weight, having a faster metabolism, etc. It sure would help if any of these happened.

3. I've seen on here where people say it's best to fast for 36 hours and eat for 12. Do you think it would be better to: A. Pure fast for 24 hours (no calories) or B. 20% fast for 36 hours?

How do you all deal with plateaus? I exercise pretty intensely 6 hours a week, I follow JUDDD, but the weight loss has basically halted.

I've decided to try this diet, and I'm so nervous! I've never really dieted before, but grad school has totally made me pack on the pounds and I have to do something about it before the summer beach season!

STATS:
Height: 5'2''
Weight: 140
Up day: 1900 calories
Down day: 400 calories
Exercise: 2 miles walking every other day.

I have a question though, I know people suggest you eat protein shakes/bars during the first 2 weeks for your down days, but is that really necessary?? Can I just eat salads and chicken breast, or frozen meals as long as I stay under 400 calories?

If you think my plan or calorie goals need modification, please let me know also. Thanks so much everyone! :)

Tomorrow being my first DD.  Got to work out what to eat yet.

I have put on so much weight recently, I used to be so slim and I've just really let myself go :(  It's time to take action and stop pretending it's not happening.

CW: 163
LW:110

GW1: 126

I have to take my new measurements so I'll be back later to note them down.

Hi, I'm new and have been researching the JUDDD and think I could give it a go and make it work.  I'm hoping to start tomorrow, with my first down day :)

Ht: 64 in
HW: 175 lbs
LW: 118 lbs
CW: 154 lbs

It's been almost a year since I stopped judddding.  Ha, that word looks amazing. 

I'm about 10 pounds over my stats when I stopped following the diet, and I really want to see how much fat I can lose from my hips and thighs in the short term if I try this again.  However, I'm not in a (mental) place where I can safely restrict that many calories without losing my sanity altogether, so I want to see how effective the 35% weight loss mode is.

So here are the stats:
Age 22
Ht 5'9"
Wt 130
bust 32"
waist 24"
hips 37"
thighs 21"

Today I shall be downing at 782 calories, and tomorrow shall be upping at 2235 calories.  I doubt that will happen, so I'm going to shoot for a goal of at least 1900 calories.  I do a lot of running and strength training so hopefully that'll help speed up the fat loss.

Age, -  I am 19, but will be 20 in March. Hoping to be at my goal weight by then.

Height, - 5'7 and a tad

Current, - 138

High, - 180's

Low, - 120's

Goal Weights, - 118- 120


I havent done my measurements as of yet but as soon as I get a tape measure I will post them , hope that is fine for now. I know this is vague and off and my weights have such large gaps though I dont really wish to get into as of why right now. What I will say is I have problems with certain things in my life and that greatly affects my weight gain and loss. Feel free to add me on msn or on here if you would like to.

Hello,

I don't think I've posted here before. I forget what stats are requested, but all I know is that I'm 5'4" and since college, my top weight is about 148 lbs, low weight is about 120 lbs, and my current weight is around 135. Ideally I'd like to get to 115 (my weight in high school), but I'd be happy with 120-125ish.

Here's my question: the main reason I haven't tried JUDDD in the past is because I like to drink. Not necessarily every day, but enough that I prefer to do it more than every other day.

All of the sudden, I have to start going into work early on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so I'm planning to not drink Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.

I'm not saying I must drink on Friday AND Saturday! It's just that unless I make them both up days, I'd wind up alternating every week, which would sort of go against my intended plan.

So that's my question: If I do three down days and four up days every week, will that mess everything up?

ahh i really need some support~! ( T^T)
i'm really losing all my confidence and feeling stressed..
i felt so good cause i lost so much, but then i did about 5 up days in a row and gained!!
people just keep offering me food on my down days!! ( T___T)
how do you turn that away?
today i got awarded ice cream and cake for making nice grades at school, i couldn't just say no!
so what do you guys do when this type of situation comes up? it makes me feel awful that i go half the day without eating anything at all, and then some cake comes along and ruins it all.
